Meridian Ireland Privacy Policy

Meridian Ireland is a registered private partnership based in Ireland and markets products under that partnership name and the core product Irish Medicines Formulary (IMF).  Our core business is the creation and delivery of prescribing and safety medicines information to healthcare professionals and organisations.

Meridian Ireland’s registered address is 49 Castlerosse View, Baldoyle, Dublin 13. We respect the privacy of every person from whom we have receive personal information. We comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation which regulates the processing of data and ensures that your data is processed fairly and lawfully, is kept secure and only that data necessary for any processing is kept.

This policy summarises the information we may collect about you and how we may use that data. We collect only information required to provide you with services you have requested such as print books or online subscriptions.

  1. Information we collect and how it is collected.
    We only collect personal information if we have your permission and for use in fulfilling your order with us. This information is collected when you order a service or product, use our websites (or our third-party website (PayPal, Stripe) to pay for a product.

When you pay us using our online payments processors, we record details of the financial transaction but we do not directly store your debit or credit card information.

We do not share personal data with any third parties for marketing purposes.

  1. Cookies
    We use cookies to monitor usage of our online products. These contain no personal information about you and only keep a record of the pages visited. Some cookies expire after your browser is closed whilst others stay on your hard drive (these cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the website and use its features). (2) Performance cookies. These cookies collect anonymous information on how you use our website. No personal details are stored.
  2. Legal basis for processing data
    Different legal bases are used which depend upon the purpose for processing your data. Generally details are provided solely when purchasing our print book or online subscription under contract and payment is made online using our third-party payment processors including PayPal and Stripe.

    We will only use personal information for the purpose it was collected. 
  4. How long do we keep your data for?
    Data is not kept any longer than is required for the purposes of the processing or to comply with the necessities of revenue and corporate business law.
  5. Security & Confidentiality
    Meridian Ireland makes every reasonable effort to protect your information from theft or misuse and to keep it confidential. While we intend to protect any personal information required, we cannot provide absolute certainty of security. 
  6. Transfer of data to third parties
    We may use third party providers e.g. Fusio (Ireland) for web site hosting, web maintenance, email alerting, subscription fulfilment and taking payment. We share only the necessary information with these third party to provide these services.  We take reasonable commercial steps to ensure that your data is kept secure and confidential by any third party, is deleted when not needed for the purpose it was given, that their data privacy policies protect your data and that they only process your data on our instruction. We do not sell or rent your personal data.
  7. Withdrawal of consent
    When you have provided consent, if you should wish to withdraw that consent, you can let us know by sending an email (details provided on the business website) or by emailing formulary@meridianireland.com
  8. Restriction of liability
    Where our websites provide links to other websites, we are not responsible for the privacy policies of those websites, nor do we accept any liability for their content.
